Rigging Tips

Single hook preferrable - so with a single hook set up, split ring swivel split ring we get a good walk the dog action and in initial retrieve the head dives and the walk is approx 15cm sub surface (it goes deeper with the bigger lures) but on pause it breaks the surface. This is achieved with a slow retrieve.

On a faster retrieve it is highly recommended that you use  assist hooks from middle and rear.

The benefit -  why well firstly trebles act as a lever system and work their way out of fish, proven, also a single hook attacked directly with a split ring has the same effect ie the fish uses the lure as a lever a the hook works itself out, with an assist set up(wire or assist cord) there is no lever, my success rate on hook up to land is now 97% opposed to a low 72% the other way.

The lure also swims 100% better with assists, slow retrieve is deadly as it really has a side way walk/wobble as an injured fish, but the winner is a fast strong sweep across with your rod, it skims along the surface and ends with a slight walk side to side as anglers rod pauses... This has proved a massively successful retrieve. Assist are definitely the way to go I now only test with this set up as well!
